Research supporting policy development and campaign messaging
Research the candidate could use
The campaign needed to turn complex local issues into policy positions and messages voters could understand. I supported that work with quantitative and qualitative research, drawing on online datasets, city government records, and interviews with municipal officials.
From evidence to a weekly briefing
I analyzed and visualized data in Excel and Tableau, then wrote weekly policy briefs for the candidate. The briefs brought together the records and interviews in a format that could support strategic decisions.
Connecting policy and communication
I helped translate the findings into concise, voter-accessible explanations that informed campaign messaging and outreach. The work required both investigating an issue and deciding which details an audience needed to understand it.
